I was sitting at the bar, there was a slight disadvantage when trying to order food. My drink order was taken quickly, but the bartenders were busy so it made it hard to get the food order in. Once the order was in the service got rolling and in short time my food was out. I had the stout burger which was a bacon blue cheese cheddar and bacon burger. It was decent it tasted good, but not great. What was great was the appetizers. I had the little charlie (something like that) it was a high quality filet medallion on a small bun with caramelized onions. Also I tried another meat appetizer i cant remember the name of which was a steak tips seasoned Cajun style with a horseradish ranch sauce. Very good. The beer menu was more impressive because they had primarily craft beers. I was told by a bartender that the list changed frequently. That's always good. I'm looking forward to going back to try their wood fired pizzas. I will write a review for that.

I am a huge fan of any of their pizzas. I went in with somewhat low expectations, but the prices are reasonable and the happy hour is worth stopping in and checking it out. You can catch a game there or meet for a more casual dinner. Check this place out.

Nice restaurant bar. Had me a Summit and some fried cheese curds. The latter alone gives it a special spot in my heart, boosting it to four stars. The service we had was overkind but underdeveloped. Too much checking in with smiles when we didn't need it, and then pure absence when we wanted to pay the bill. Shoot, now I want to give it two stars. Oh, yeah, the fried cheese curds. I don't know if it's a chain, but it has a chain feel to it.

Awesome beer selection! I had Shake Chocolate Porter- smelled sooo chocolatey and I love it! I had the Teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps. It came with 3 sauces- peanut sauce, soy sauce and maybe a vinegar something sauce- they were all good! Could have used another chicken breast, but overall tasty! Our server was kinda hit or miss, but was very receptive to any requests and friendly. I've eaten the pizzas here once before and they were really good too. I would definitely go back. They are basically a sports bar with all the TV's but it's not crazy loud.

I grew up in Roseville. My parents still live there, so I still spend a good amount of time in that 'burb. Roseville is full of shopping and chain restaurants, but has never had a true bar. Ted's on Larpenter is a fun hole in the wall, but not the kind of place you would meet a date for drinks. As a 20-thing, if I wanted to grab a drink in Roseville I found myself at Joe Senser's, BW3, Old Chicago, or the now- closed Friday's. These are all fine places, but I always longed for a fun neighborhood bar with some character. I was excited when I found out that the old Chianti Grill location was being renovated and becoming Stout's Pub. The idea of an Irish pub in Roseville was exciting. I was really looking forward to meeting friends for a pint and some good Irish whiskeys. I'm still looking forward to that, because there is nothing Irish about Stout's. That's not entirely true - they do have Guinness on tap, and a couple Irish whiskeys. Maybe they never intended to be an Irish Pub, in which case I do not understand their concept. The outside of the building is designed to look like an Irish pub, and it's named after a beer with British and Irish roots. From the outside you think "Irish Pub." Then you walk in and think of the now- defunct Majors Sports Cafe chain. I could not have been more disappointed when I walked in and found myself at another chain-type restaurant. Based on the exterior there was some false advertising going on here. I was forced to change my expectations. This is not an Irish Pub. It's not a pub at all. It a suburban restaurant that just happens to have a bar in it. Just like the afore mentioned Joe Senser's. Despite my disappointment, Sara, Stephanie, and I had come for lunch and we were going to stay and try it. The menu was what you would expect: sandwiches, burgers, salads, apps and a few entrees. They also serve pizzas made in a wood fire oven, which seemed to be the signature item at Stout's. Stephanie enjoyed her pizza, Bombshell liked her Italian sausage sandwich, and my Greek salad was tasty. The food was good and so was the service. We weren't blown away by anything, but weren't disappointed in anything either. We got exactly what we would expect from a suburban bar and grill. Right on par with the other options in Roseville. There is nothing wrong with Stout's if you're looking for a non-descript restaurant to take the family for a good meal. However, if you're looking for an Irish Pub you will find yourself disappointed and thirsty.

I guess if your priority is beer, by all means go there. If it's food, not so much. Chicken was bone dry, the filet (not sure if it was a filet) sliders were BLAND with a couple lousy onions. Waitress was just ok, not sure why you have to flag a waitress down for a refill of anything. BTW she could have cared less that the chicken sucked. Would not return if I lived there, even for the beer!

A comfortable bar and nice patio. The food is good but not great. I like this restaurant but consistency, specifically with the pizza is lacking. The first few times it was a-mazing. Brick oven so the taste was well seasoned, toppings fresh. Lately not so much. The patio is located looking larpenteur which can lead to some good people watching. Service is really good, we have enjoyed everyone we've had serve us. My only complaint in that department is it seems like some of the servers check with one person at the table and leave before checking with everyone at the table if they want a drink refill or need anything. Overall, they have good specials, good food and good service. It's a good dependable bar.

I love the selection of local beers! Great variety and the servers are pretty knowledgeable about the beer selection. The appetizer menu is top notch. The burgers are perfect. I'd recommend the black-n-bleu or the mushroom and swiss. Mmm. Last time I went there, I had a steak sandwich. I ordered it medium-rare. Usually when I order something med-rare, it comes out medium-well. To my amazement, the steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it and was well seasoned. The steak sandwich is a carnivore's dream. Pretty much just steak and a ciabatta roll. That is all that is necessary if it's done right.

Went for a Thursday night football game and planned to stay for the entire game. My gf and I ordered food and a beer right away. Before we could finish all the fries the waitress took our plates away and brought us our tab without asking if we wanted anything else. Horrible first experience and needless to say I watched the second half somewhere else. I will say the food was good though, just didn't feel very welcomed. The waitress' name was Victoria.

We stopped by Stout's Pub for dinner on a warm Saturday night. The patio leaves a little to be desired, the view is pretty much the parking lot. I thought the food was decent, your average bar fare with a few surprises. I ordered their wood-fired Mediterranean pizza. It was pretty tasty and was topped with artichokes, red pepper and olives. My mom had the lettuce wraps, and I was pleasantly surprised by them. They were build-your-own and came with three dipping sauces. I would give them another try, but wasn't blown away.

It's eponymous. It's spacious. It's delicious. Stouts Pub is housed in the old Ciatti's location NW of Har Mar Mall on Larpenteur. Upon entering one notices the spacious room. Most of the interior is wooden giving it a kind of rustic feeling. A large bar area accompanies plenty of roomy seating. No sardine in a can feeling here. Sure it benefits from a recent remodeling, but the job was done very well. Beer Yes they have beer here - go figure. They have a wide variety of premium beer many from Minnesota. Fulton Worthy Adversary jumped out at me and did not disappoint. It is a smooth sipping stout. Food I had the Stout's Dip. Basically a french dip with pepper relish and provolone cheese. It was tasty, it was large, and it was novel enough for me to appreciate it. Skin on fries made an understated yet welcome accompaniment to this sandwich. My wife had the Walleye Sandwich. Crispy with a tender flaky inside. Too large for mere mortals to eat. She made a valiant effort though. Service Pleasant , friendly and attentive. I am quite pleased with this place and hope they do well. .

Lost on me.... I've been hearing so much about this place we had to check it out. We arrived around 4:30ish on a Friday to meet up with a couple of friends. Friends were inside at the bar and the moment we walked in we were hit with a "gatekeeper" who didn't want to let us pass. Gimme some room man! I said, "our friends are right there saving us a couple of seats." And we walked over. The bar is big and the seats spacious, but too many seats for the bar itself. We're trying to look at the menu and the bartender is a little "hovery" for me. I'm not a specialty beer drinker (so this place is lost on me), so I get a Coors Light. I understand everyone there is probably new and trying to be helpful, but it was like they were trying way too hard. This is not your old Chianti Grill. The inside has been totally revamped and looks great. I was sitting there trying to remember where everything used to be in the joint. We have a beer or 2 and order some appetizers. I get the lettuce wraps and dining companion orders the little steak sandwiches. Our friends ordered the roasted vegetables, chili and seared ahi. My lettuce wraps were good, but for the $12.95 price tag, they were a little too steep for me. I understand the price as they were listed under the salads instead of apps, but still $12.95 for a grilled (which seemed more like blackened) teriyaki (which I didn't taste) breast, lettuce, soba noodles, carrots, cucumber and couple of sauces is too pricey. It was suppose to have cashews, but these were not on the plate. They would have given it a nice crunch. Plus, I was still hungry after I finished. Dining companion said his burgers were good, but greasy. Our friends really enjoyed their choices. I can't get arms around what the place is suppose to be. There isn't much around in the way of interesting and non-chains for food, but it seemed really busy for what is was providing at the price point. I'm sure it's welcome addition to the neighborhood, but the crowds at this place + the fact I'm not a specialty beer drinker + the higher than average prices do not equal a place I would go running back to visit.

Walked by on a Saturday afternoon and stopped in for happy hour and drinks. The pig wings were tasty, but they are pretty much just pig ribs. The Bloody Mary was delicious and had some nice garnish to go with it. Pretty solid for a pub in the burbs and the server was very attentive. It's a great, relaxed pub to grab a beer and apps. I'd give it a 3.5 star if that was an option. ;)
(3)Eric K.
Burger was pretty good, but awfully messy. The pork tacos appetizers were much larger than I expected, but needed something more than just a dab of salsa and lime. The beer is really good and the waitress we had knew a lot about what was available. I'm glad the little one wasn't with us, because the music was so loud she'd have cried the whole time.
(3)Lightening C.
Stout's is my FAVORITE local spot. However, I always belly up so I can't comment on what table service is like. Bartenders (most of them) are the best. The bill can add up, coming for happy hour helps which ends at 6pm...starts again at 9 (weekdays). Few favorites: -Pub Shrooms are awesome....served with a dipping sauce (chipotle mayo?) -Nachos are fantastic. -Walleye Sammy is great...but HUGE - make sure you have a big appetite if you order this guy. -TOMATO SOUP is the best I've ever had EVER, and I'm not even big on tomato soup.

We had a rather large group (15+ people) that we had made a reservation for ahead of time. It worked great for our group. We didn't feel like we were being too loud in a nice fancy restaurant and disturbing other patrons, but it wasn't so loud in there that we couldn't hear each other talk. My husband and I brought our 1 year old daughter, and ordered a pizza to share. It was good pizza (despite our child throwing much of hers on the floor). We aren't big drinkers (and I was pregnant & still nursing), so we didn't order any alcohol, but others ordered beers and seemed to like them all. (No idea which ones... sorry). I would go there again, but I guess I didn't find it as anything to write home about. Being as I love finding deals, I was a little bummed that I couldn't find a coupon ahead of time, but such is life. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food.
(3)Nathan L.
I love this place! I stop by regularly, about once a week or so, and have sat in both the restaurant and at the bar. I avoid the bar if it's crowded: they have a few too many seats, so it can be an uncomfortable fit. That said, their food is great and their beer selection is phenomenal. Yes, there are pubs with a wider selection of craft beers, but Stouts has made some excellent choices and you'll find something for any taste. They have a good, representative sample of local beers available, all on tap. Outside of the beer, they make great cocktails, and don't skimp on their strength. Their bar staff is also very friendly and responsive. If you stop in for lunch, I seriously recommend sitting at the bar. All of the food I've tried so far is very good. The burgers are quite tasty, as are their shrimp and slider appetizers.
(4)Becky L.
I love this place; lots of local beers, friendly and knowledgable staff, awesome greasy food, and they have a good late night menu. I could only ask for later hours.

What a surprise, another Gastro Pub in St. Paul. I'm sure one day they'll go out of style and we'll see a lot of vacant spaces, but for now, pub lovers should just enjoy the ride. Stouts is a neat little pub, but has almost a suburban feel to it, which I dont feel is a bad thing, but it's just different then what I normally look for out of a pub. The beer selection was nice, but it wont overwhelm you. Beer snobs will find something they like, but they won't be amazed. We split a order of buffalo wings which were standard wings. They had a bunch of small plates that looked interesting, including beef Jerky. I kind of wish I got some Jerky. I ordered the fish n chips. As far as fish n chips go, it was ok. If I'm going to drive down here for Fish n chips though, I'd just go to macs. What I really wanted to order was the Stouts Dip, but I had just had an italian beef for lunch. My buddy did order the dip, and I felt jealous. My wife got the Salmon and she enjoyed her meal. The vegetables were roasted, but she didn't care for them. I took a bite of her roasted potato and pepper and thought it was good. Services was ok, not great, not bad, but ok. I would come back, but it's not going to steal a lot of my business from other Pubs in St. Paul.
(3)Michael P.
Upon arriving, we were greeted with smile and service! The beer selection is excellent. There is a variety of different beers to choose from, but not too many that you would receive an expired brew. In addition to a vareity of different craft brews on tap, they also have a healthy selection of the domestics standards. While I did not get a meal, I did get an appetizer. It was well cooked and quite tasty. I will say is was somewhat pricey, but it's clear that the price of the beer and food is for a good reason. Well done Stouts! I'll see you again soon!
(4)Bryan E.
We recently dined at Stout's Pub purely due to the fact that they had a patio and it was close at the time. Pure Bar food, okay service, smoking allowed and in your face. I won't be back..... Sorry, Charlie....
(2)Chad T.
I'm debating between three and four stars, but am going with four because of the atmosphere. It's a nice place with plenty of parking, TV's, and outdoor seating. I live in the area, so I appreciate a mid-range place to go for a burger and a beer. I really like the fact that 90% of their tap beer is from Minnesota. I'd give their food three stars. For the nice decor and pricing, the food is just ok. We were in there last Friday and I ordered the fish and chips (being a good Catholic). The fish was greasy beyond belief. I ran out of napkins, I had to wipe my hands so much. On previous occasions, I've had burgers - I can't remember anything special about them so they must not have been that great. The wait staff is very nice but extremely busy. They always seem rushed, which is great when you want your food to get out quickly, but not so much when you're looking for recommendations and general banter with the server. Again, not their fault, it's just the way the place is run. I'll definitely come back to Stout's, but it won't be for the food. It'll be for the outdoor seating and its proximity to our house.
(4)Jennifer K.
Close to home...we stopped for a late lunch...a little pricey but they had some good HHS specials from 11-6. I had the pulled pork sliders and my husband had fish and chips and chili..solid lunch but nothing amazing.
(3)Matthew B.
Staff is always friendly and the food is always good! Lots of local beers on tap as well. Kids eat free on Sundays. Its our local hang out!
(5)Catherine L.
Sadly, I expected better. They put ICE in my hard cider (what planet was the bartender from?) and poured a black and tan using Summit instead of Bass, which I know is sort of the lazy American way to do it but a place that calls itself a "pub" should be able to do it right. My husband said his burger was adequate. I ordered the fish and chips. The fries were tasteless. The batter on the fish was crispy but the only flavor was a slight bitterness. Kind of like eating crispy cardboard. I could have found it tolerable if the cod was good. But EWWW. The fish was soggy wet. Squishy spongy wet. I dumped salt on everything and if I weren't in a hurry I would have sent it all back. But I ate it. What can I say? I was really hungry. Other people seemed to be enjoying pizza and the guy next to us at the bar had an appetizer of sliders made with steak. He loved them. If I'm forced to go back, I might try the sliders and request NO ICE in my cider.
(2)Pete A.
A much needed, welcome addition to the neighorhood. Great beer selection, friendly professional bartenders. Great atmosphere. Free WIFI. Can't comment on food, as I mostly stop by for a beer and to get online to get caught up on emails.
(5)Monica K.
The beer and food are excellent! I had the fish and chips and they were very good. The Caesar salad could have used something but seriously it is a pub so it is ok. Would definitely come back.
(5)Hilary F.
(my husband wants me to give one star) Tonight was our second and maybe last visit, certainly last for a meal. We met friends there for happy hour about a month ago at their suggestion, we'd never heard of it. We had a great time on that visit. We got a gift card recently so decided to have a late dinner there tonight. The good: - the space is great. Spacious, very nicely decorated, lots of flat screens with a good variety of sports on. - the beer list is really good with a nice focus on MN beers - appreciated $2 off MN brews while the Twins were on - on our first visit, we very much enjoyed the pork sliders and the hop curds appetizers The meh: - the hostess tonight was a little awkward. The place was maybe 20% (at 9:00pm on Saturday night!) full but she seemed to struggle with knowing where to seat us. There were tons of booths open but she gave us a table (to be fair, we didn't ask to move) - server was pleasant enough but not very outgoing - overall wait times were pretty slow given how few patrons were in there at the time The bad: - ALL of our food tonight: ---- hop curds tonight came out in about five soggy baseball-sized clumps. We literally needed a knife and fork to saw off a bite. Annoying and not appetizing. ---- I had the walleye fish and chips. I am pretty sure my fish had been fried earlier and then microwaved. I could barely cut through it - the batter was chewy and tough. Fries were also lukewarm and soggy. ---- my husband had the rib eye and mashed potatoes. Expectations for a $22 steak are pretty low but he had to ask for A-1 and still had to choke it down. It seemed to him it was only cooked on the grill, not finished in the oven, and that the grill had remnants of other food because the crust was full of other random flavors. ---- I wanted to give Stout's a shot to salvage this meal so we ordered the apple tart for dessert because it is billed as wood fired. Again - it was obviously pre-made, frozen and microwaved. The texture was terrible. Overall- stick with the drinks.
(2)Sarah H.
So I'm torn between 3 & 4 stars. Overall, I just grab the first open bar stool I see ( which is any space since not too folks are there @3pm in the afternoon-ski! The drinks are decent- The bartenders are pretty awesome at coming up with drinks on the fly if you give them a few hints on what ya like and don't like. My favorite is Carrie. She has given me a lot of rad drinks! So she for sure is worth a 4-star review. But then there are the other barkeeps that are either super attentive to the point where you wish they'd leave for just a minute even so you can chat with the person you are there with. OR they are just sort of attentive and you pretty much may as well flash them so as to get yourself a drink. Oh and my biggest peeve- I order a water first and then a drink- but I have to ask 1-2 times before i get said water! I have tried the Chips and guac. and they are pretty delicious. I recommend them as well as the apple cinnamon tart. Go in and check it out for yourself. Its pretty fun and all.
(4)Rob G.
Went to Stout's for dinner with my wife and my son. Good food at reasonable prices. Very attentive wait staff.
(4)Greg H.
Stouts isn't just the best bar in Falcon Heights it's the only bar in falcon heights. Full service restaurant and bar with amazing 24 tap beer list and full bar. Try the infused bloodies. I'm not much into bloodies but they now have me hooked. For food, the sliders and fish and chips are always a win. The pig wings are worth trying too if you like your pork ribs. Service is excellent the only downside is that they close at like 12 or 1.
(5)Erica L.
Hmm what happened? We came in today for the first time in over a month and the menus were different (a front and back poster board instead of the usual fold-out) with mostly the same offerings but a few new things. We almost always order the same thing and they were all noticeably different today-- not in a good way, but more like in a cutting corners kind of way. Bloody Mary garnish looked prettier but didn't consist of the same full beef stick and pickle. Both of our entrees were made differently and it was disappointing, especially when our food has been consistently good since they opened. Why change a good thing?
(3)Dave A.
I've been here a few times and would go back again and again! Love the layout and atmosphere, and the food is excellent. If you have a thing for beef stroganoff, they serve it on Fridays. OMG, sooooooooooo GOOD!
(4)Joe I.
Going to have to re-confirm my previous review. Food is good, service is good, free meals on Sundays for kids is great. But for being a beer bar, their beer selection sorta sucks. So, three stars - at least they are consistent!
(3)Susan W.
This is one of the best restaurants for miles. I am a total foodie..travel and eat in some of best places in US...and this place has some of the best food ive ever had..not nust for pub fare..but food in general. The servers are friendly and on top of their game. Ive loved everything ive ever ordered..but the homemade chips with bacon aioli is ridiculous!!! The BLT is exceptional...i lived in NC the bacon and cold slaw capitol of the world and Stouts is the best ive ever had. Even their pickles are divine!!! I shouldnt even write this because it is always crowded and i dont need competition...but if you want good food..a true pub atmosphere and great beer and cocktails..wedge yourself into their parking lot and have a meal that tastes like mom made it..if mom was an irish girl with a gift with bacon sausage and spuds who went to le cordon bleu...
(5)Rhonda G.
Ever since I read John O. review I just had to get over there. He has a way of making wherever he is, THE place to be. I really love this place and location but a few kinks made me take off a star. First I had to try the cheese curds. Extreme salt and greasiness made me not a big fan. Before you say, "They're cheese curds asshole", I just think back to the Dells and the ones without an ounce of grease, and they are my guide. We ordered like we were making up for lost time being there. Basil got fried mushrooms. They come with a weird horseradish dip. I got the walleye sandwich. I thought it was strange that it was a dollar less than the dinner. This thing is huge, so is the perfectly grilled ciabatta bun. Lots of lettuce, and a delicious homemade tarter sauce. Yes I could taste the beer. That was the soup also, beer cheese, but majorly lacking cheese. It was more like a dark brown pour of beer. I got that instead of fries. I tried a bite of the bread pudding in a small cast iron pan, served perfectly firm, good but could use whipped cream. An awesome server Sydney made our first visit exceptional. An odd assortment of customers. Most are into sports and watching one of the 3 TV's in one room alone. I couldn't help noticing the boomers like us, sitting behind me each with an IPAD. It wouldn't surprise me if they were texting each other. After I ordered I got up to go to the ladies room, which might have been a freezer at one time. I couldn't help but notice how good all the pizzas looked. There are many more things I want to try on this menu, like everything.
(4)Jordy P.
Tonight I brought a friend here for dinner because we were in the area and I was really sad about the experience we had. We sat at the bar and were served by Benjamin who greeted us with "did you want something? ". We had to ask for menus, and when I asked if there were any specials he smugly told me "nope". We ordered our drinks and food and both were tasty. My friend finished his drink faster than me and ordered a second and we were promptly given our tab before I was even asked if I wanted another. Clearly we were inconveniencing this dude so I paid the tab and went somewhere else to spend my hard earned money. If I ever go back here and I see him behind the bar, I'll walk out. I too am a bartender and I would never even consider treating people so rudely!
(2)Sabrina D.
Went there on a Sunday evening, pleased to see they have happy hour EVERY day. Good value, good portions. Service was excellent, selection of beers was awesome, clean, nice interior--open but not too loud. Spicy pork (had on nachos and lettuce wraps) was awesome! Onion rings were so unique and yummy--gotta try! Will definitely be back!!
(5)Mike M.
Best thing to say about this place was that they have some pretty awesome onion rings. They seemed to have been battered in doughnut batter because they puffed up like a balloon. the breading had a unique taste to it that I really enjoyed. They were very filling though, I had one and a half and thought it was too much too handle. They also have a good selection of draft, and a few flights to choose from. The menu looked decent, but a little pricey for bar food. I ordered a sausage pizza that was $3 off for happy hour trying to save a few bucks. It was pretty good, nothing about it blew me away, maybe I just didn't have a good appetite that night. it was a crispy thin crust that seemed to be home made. It just isn't a place I would go out of my way to come back to. We did have a good time playing trivia there, so maybe I will come back for that. Nothing about the place made it stand out. It seemed like a franchise, not sure if it is or not but I never like the feel of a franchise restaurant. I'm always looking for somewhere unique with their own flare and creative identity. Not a bad spot to grab some food if you're nearby. Just be sure to order those O-Rings!!
(3)Sarah S.
With "pub" in the name I wasn't expecting anything above greasy bar food but the food was excellent. My husband and I both ordered the sliders, one of the pulled pork and one with the filet. Both were good but we preferred the pork ones. They were spicy and had cucumbers and a nice aioli. The fries weren't great but we loved the coleslaw. We will be coming back for many more future lunches.
(4)Qixin C.
I gave full stars even if I couldn't provide any pictures right now, because I am gonna come back again and again!! I will be back to post pictures and honestly, this should be marked better than three and half stars in total.
(5)Kendra A.
A few friends and myself went here to watch the Vikings vs. Packers game last night. (urgh) and it was a surprisingly good experience. My boyfriend and I have driven past this place a few times and wanted to try it out. Despite the sub-par reviews, it may be a hit or miss experience. A highlight was the service we were provided. Our server was named Taylor and he was great. It's sad how hard it is to experience good service at a restaurant nowadays and he restored some faith back in me. We went on "Ladies Night" and the specials were great. The local beer pint selection was great and satisfied everyone at the table. We ordered cheese curds which were a bit on the salty side but hey, it's greasy carbs on a plate what can you expect? We also ordered a pizza and that was delicious as weel. If you are in the area I would recommend giving this place a try. I want to go back and try something else on the menu. Oh, and if Taylor is working ask to sit in his section he will make your dining experience much more enjoyable.
(4)Adam F.
Steak sandwich was good minus the one bite of all fat. Fries were way over done. Had to send them back. Soup came out a minute before entrees. Just not a lot of attention by service staff at all. First time here. I can't see coming back.
(2)Jim D.
I went with a party of seven & in comparison to my previous experience as a party of twos. This large party experience was different and a bit off putting. I always liked the beer selection. Food was same ole. I recommend for small party of 2-4, large party prepare for long wait, as they do not take reservations.
(3)Annie P.

Stout's is my go-to place for casual client luncheons. Service is quick, tables are almost always available, and the menu is approachable. I order different things nearly every time I go and everything I've ordered has been good. The one must-try is their potato chips. Comes with a totally unhealthy, but delicious dipping sauce. I'm withholding the 5th star only because the food is a little basic. Their cook/chef must have some skills based on what I've had, so it would be nice to see a little creativity. For instance, the daily special last time I was there was a turkey sandwich with guacamole. I feel like they could do better. They also have a solid beer selection with many local brews on tap. Easy parking too. In short - think Applebees type food, but better tasting, fresher, and a way less annoying atmosphere.

Had lunch at Stout's Pub today with a friend.Arrived early so,we had immediate seating and great attention from the staff. Order a couple of beers and took a look at the menu. Ordered the Asian sliders and lunch fish and chips (cod). Food arrived in a timely manner....not too fast so we could talk and enjoy a sip or three of the beers. The food was hot on arrival, but the batter on the fish was so soggy it was inedible. The fries were nicely crisp somI don't have a great understanding of what happened with the fish batter. What I tasted of the batter tasted good, the texture was just bad. The fish itself was well cooked and tasted good. The tarter sauce was even good. The Asian sliders were large...we could have split that for lunch and been full. The pickles on top of the sandwich were pretty vinegary but added a good punch. Again the fries were hot and crisp. Overall a good lunch but not deserving of more than 3 stars because of the really poor preparation on the batter for the fish. Oh, they have a very nice and varied beer list.

Four of us stopped in one evening after a St. Paul Saints game. We sat outside. Very nice atmosphere. We ordered beer, pizza and 2 kinds of chicken wings. Everything was very good. We especially liked the sweet whiskey wings.

We're pretty regular here as we live really close. For the most part, I have all good things to say. They have a great, rotating beer selection, and the food is good for the price. Brunch on Sundays is awesome - get a bloody mary and French toast. The BEST bloody mary I have ever had. On the dinner menu, we love the cheese curds, reuben pizza, proud stout burger, and the potato chips. The potato chips! Pretty sure they are cut there and are served with an awesome bacon aioli. They have trivia on Wednesdays, which is always fun, but can sometimes be hard to hear when there are big groups nearby. Unfortunately, the service is completely hit or miss. Some servers that we know who have been there for a while are awesome, always helpful, informative, and knowledgable about the beer. On the other hand, some just seem like they could care less if they get a tip or not they are so bare minimum with the service. That being said, sitting at the bar seems to basically guarantee consistently good service.

Used to love the place, but the female bartender that works happy hour is the worst I've ever had on a repeated basis. Pretty sure if you're a friend though you get free drinks, since she refills them without asking. Last time she told me she'd be with me right away as she talked to 3 other people and poured 2 other drinks.

Went here for trivia night and I'm hooked. Also, they had flights of beer available which appeals to the Gemini in me. Hello, variety! I had one of the wood fired pizzas which was pretty tasty. We also tried the homemade potato chips. Not a bad appetizer, I must say They have a patio which was packed on the day we went, but we didn't sit there because I'm not a fan of outside and trivia was inside.
(4)Brit B.
Good atmosphere and a good beer list. Service wasn't fantastically fast but was not horribly slow, either--pretty average. Prices were reasonable and there is a great selection of food!

Great drink choices, atmosphere is awesome too. Not your loud bar type atmosphere and we were sitting at the bar. Looking forward to going back again.

We tried Stout's for the first time tonight on the recommendation of a friend, and found it an enjoyable experience. We sat inside, and if there was anything negative, it was that the music was a bit too loud for relaxed conversation. It did drown out overhearing from any other tables. The magnetic poetry in our booth was kind of fun. If you like sports, there were four different sports channels visible on TVs viewable from where I sat. The staff were responsive, and very efficient at replenishing drinks unobtrusively. They also didn't push hard on making us order things we didn't want. We each had a soft drink, skipping any appetizer. My companion had a Caesar salad and Fish & Chips; I had a garden salad with my Lamb stew. The food was excellent, but you do need to ask that salads be brought out first; it was brought with the entrée, making a somewhat crowded table area. The amount of fries with the fish was perfect, and the lamb stew was seasoned just right. I got a box for half of my stew to save room for dessert. We ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was pleased to discover that it wasn't some huge, overly-sweet confection, but smaller, 1/2-cup size of a dark chocolate cake, with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Just the right size, and an adult flavor. We would gladly go back, though we might sit outside if the weather were good, just to avoid the ambient volume.

Great service and happy hour specials! Not to mention the cheese curds are to die for! Will be going back soon.

Went on Father's Day with my husband and kids. There's a loud buzzing noise that crops up every now and again (AC? Cooling for the beer?) that was too loud for my two year old. It also seemed to frustrate other patrons who were trying to watch the World Cup game. My food was delicious (burger without bun and side of roasted vegetables) but my husband's steak was full of fat. The waitress asked if he wanted a 'box for his leftover meat' and when he explained that everything that was left on the plate was fat, she looked perplexed. Hoping it was just a bad steak, but the husband was a little disappointed.

I have had 2 previous visits here with my boyfriend and a few other family members. Fantastic server- genuine, energetic, and very attentive. Unfortunately can't remember her name. I've had the teriyaki chicken wraps and chili- I would give both of those items five stars. Also would give our server five stars. Went again (3rd visit) today and sat at the relatively empty bar rail. Only one bartender working. Empty restaurant over-all, however that didn't stop the bartender from being extremely SLOW. He may have said hi but it took him at least 3-5 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink, another 3+ minutes to make our bloody Mary's. Asked for a beer chaser, and he does a couple things before grabbing the 4oz sample, adding another minute or two to receive a beverage order. Kind of felt like he always had something better to do than check in with me and my friend. Like I said before- HE WASNT BUSY!!! I am very understanding to a busy bartender/server. It is hard to balance everything. He didn't make eye contact and almost seemed annoyed to be there working. Didn't care to tell us bloodys and mimosas were on special for 3:50 each. If we would have known we would have ordered more and left him a better tip if he even tried to be remotely personable. Did not ask how my eggs Benedict was tasting. I had to wave him down for salt and pepper because it was kind of bland. Not to mention we had to walk up to the host stand to grab menus in the first place. I understand having "off" days or bad days, but it was one thing after another with this guy. From the second we sat down to the second we left, poor service throughout. I was disappointed considering my pervious visits. Best thing about the visit besides how inexpensive the Bloody Mary's were, was how friendly the greeter was as we left and said something like, "thanks ladies, take care!" Why isn't she the one bartending? One star for the cheap and tasty spicy Bloody Mary and one star for the friendly greeter.

So get this. I was in Wisconsin on a business trip a few weeks back, and someone I with whom I spoke recommended Stout's Pub! Then last Wednesday, I met a friend for lunch and as we were driving to Chianti Grill, I asked if she had been to Stout's Pub, and she said yes. So we decided to go here instead. Stout's Pub is kind of odd, in that while it's a bar with a restaurant, it's not just your typical bar food. It's almost like they found a "real" chef to help kick bar food up a notch. My friend recommended the bacon turkey burger, but I tried the Cajun turkey burger. A little salty, but it was really good. You can tell it was fresh. The tortilla soup was good too. My friend ordered this amazing Asian salad, and you know when you look at someone else's plate wishing you had ordered that? Well, I had salad envy. She let me try it, and next time I'm ordering that. The server was okay, but she wasn't going out of her way to be friendly or chatty like some servers. I saw the chef come out to a couple of the tables, which was a nice touch. Since it's close to work, I'll be back. I'd like to try the beer.
(4)Brian L.
The food is bad. I think they expect you to get drunk on the drink specials, and then you can't tell how bad the food is. I would sit at the bar and order pizza out if I needed to stop in for a meal. I'm just amazed that they keep the doors open. If you want a beer, then stop by. If you want to eat, then just get some Ipecac and save yourself the trouble.

Came in for an after class beer and late night food. The bartender greeted us immediately, and checked IDs and took drink orders within a minute. We were offered to try beer before ordering a full glass; which was nice to not waste money on something we didn't like. They have a wide variety of beer on tap (25) full bar. The bartender kept calm even with a full bar and making drinks for the waitress staff. I've been here several times and never had a bad meal. My boyfriend and I ordered a bacon cheese burger and spinach and artichoke dip to share; food was out within 10mn max! All was delicious and the second our drinks got low the bartender didn't make us wait a minute. The food is awesome and beer choices are optimal! Defiantly somewhere to stop with a fun atmosphere and great food/drink specials.

Burger was burnt to a crisp. When she asked how I wanted it I said medium rare. Why even give the option if your cook doesn't know how to cook a burger. Even if it was a mistake the burger should have been thrown away before it ever made its way on to the bun. I'll stick to pizza next time like I usually get.

Stopped in last evening after a night at the driving range. My boyfriend and I had always talked about stopping in because the outside was very inviting. We were pleasantly surprised! Really great beer list and super yummy craft cocktail list. He had the chicken Thai pizza, which was phenomenal. I had the Cajun chicken sandwhich with fries and it was great. Tons of TVs, so I think this would be a great spot for watching games. Happy hour every day with good specials. Staff was friendly. Definitely coming back!
(5)Sonya V.
Fun but please bring back the Reuben pizza!! It was removed from the menu but I still asked for it tonight... No luck
(4)Alicia S.
I tried this place when it first opened, and I wasn't a big fan. I think it was because I went for food, and got a drink that I didn't end up enjoying. I recently went back, and was super impressed. I forgot how neat the atmosphere is! They have a cute little patio as well. Our waitress was really nice. Their happy hour is the best part...it's $3 beers, which is not just 2 or 3, but an entire list, and $2 off all appetizers. Next for me to try: Their $3 Bloody Mary on Saturdays and Sundays!
(4)Amy F.
Stouts used to always be one of my neighborhood favorites and I was a regular customer. Their recent food change on the menu has been a disappointment. The new style of menu is also not nearly as nice as the old one. I hate being given a crinkled, dirty piece of card stock. I used to always order the Rachel, the Reuben pizza or the Philly cheesesteak pizza. All three of these things have been removed from the new menu. If this were my first visit at Stouts, I may not be returning. Since I've been coming here for so long, I'll probably give it another shot but I'm not happy that my favorites were removed from the menu.

Went there last night to have a beer with a friend. One of few bars and restaurants in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. The place looks great on the outside with a few tables out front. HOWEVER, it was very noisy inside ... seemed like it was almost too noisy for a conversation. We decided to sit at a table on the patio out front. That area was also noisy due to traffic on the busy street (Larpenteur Avenue). Cigarette smoke also drifted into the patio area where we were sitting adding to the unpleasantness. Yuck!! I won't be back and won't recommend the place to others ... highly unlikely that the management will make the noise adjustments to make the place enjoyable. Too bad since there are few places to go in the area.

(2)Rhonda G.

Burger was burnt to a crisp. When she asked how I wanted it I said medium rare. Why even give the option if your cook doesn't know how to cook a burger. I went with a party of seven & in comparison to my previous experience as a party of twos. This large party experience was different and a bit off putting. I always liked the beer selection. Food was same ole. I recommend for small party of 2-4, large party prepare for long wait, as they do not take reservations.

Updating my review because my last few experiences here have been positive. More later...

(4)Keith K.

(4)Tira S.
(4)Andrea B.

I am quite pleased with this place and hope they do well. .

Paul.
(3)Bryan E.
(4)Shawn Z.
(4)Dan S.
I am a huge fan of any of their pizzas. I went in with somewhat low expectations, but the prices are reasonable and the happy hour is worth stopping in and checking it out. You can catch a game there or meet for a more casual dinner. Check this place out.
(5)Greg H.
(5)Teele S.

I gave full stars even if I couldn't provide any pictures right now, because I am gonna come back again and again!! I will be back to post pictures and honestly, this should be marked better than three and half stars in total.

Steak sandwich was good minus the one bite of all fat. Fries were way over done. Had to send them back. Soup came out a minute before entrees. Just not a lot of attention by service staff at all. First time here. I can't see coming back.

Updating my review because my last few experiences here have been positive. More later...

Best pub in town! Great food! Great beer selection! Lively and cozy environment with a great location. OUTSTANDING!

Oh Stouts, you are so reliable. A large selection of beer, good mixed drinks, serviceable bar food, and readily accommodating large groups make you a favorite place for theatre students to visit post rehearsal. Is your beer selection large? Hell yes. An impressive rotating on tap menu is available with local beers featured. Are your bartenders reliable? Yeah. My friend likes to order drinks that were popular way back in the day but aren't so much now. They graciously put up with needing to clarify what the drinks are. Is your service generally good? Definitely. We've surprised them many a night with tables of 6 or more and we were seated quickly and served well. Much better than some of the chain restaurant options in the area. Is your food steller? No. I've never particularly craved any of your offerings. Nothing to write home about on the menu. If you want to go just for food rather than atmosphere or drinks, you're going to be disappointed more often than pleased. I wish a 3.5 star option was available. I am bumping up to a 4 because I've never been disappointed by Stouts.
(4)Dan J.

(4)Melyssa M.
Great drink choices, atmosphere is awesome too. Not your loud bar type atmosphere and we were sitting at the bar. Looking forward to going back again.
(4)Jim D.
I went with a party of seven & in comparison to my previous experience as a party of twos. This large party experience was different and a bit off putting. I always liked the beer selection. Food was same ole. I recommend for small party of 2-4, large party prepare for long wait, as they do not take reservations.

Four of us stopped in one evening after a St. Paul Saints game. We sat outside. Very nice atmosphere. We ordered beer, pizza and 2 kinds of chicken wings. Everything was very good. We especially liked the sweet whiskey wings.
(4)Jess M.
(4)JJ B.

(4)Keith K.
(2)Nic B.
(4)Mike O.
(4)Dan B.

(4)Tira S.

(5)Sam M.
I am quite pleased with this place and hope they do well. .
(4)Sarah G.

Paul.

We recently dined at Stout's Pub purely due to the fact that they had a patio and it was close at the time. Pure Bar food, okay service, smoking allowed and in your face. I won't be back..... Sorry, Charlie....

Close to home...we stopped for a late lunch...a little pricey but they had some good HHS specials from 11-6. I had the pulled pork sliders and my husband had fish and chips and chili..solid lunch but nothing amazing.

A much needed, welcome addition to the neighorhood. Great beer selection, friendly professional bartenders. Great atmosphere. Free WIFI. Can't comment on food, as I mostly stop by for a beer and to get online to get caught up on emails.

The beer and food are excellent! I had the fish and chips and they were very good. The Caesar salad could have used something but seriously it is a pub so it is ok. Would definitely come back.

Went to Stout's for dinner with my wife and my son. Good food at reasonable prices. Very attentive wait staff.
